Duties to provide information when data is collected in the context of trade fair contacts

Trade fair contacts

If you provide us with your contact details when visiting a trade fair (e.g. if we scan your attendee badge, if you hand over your business card, if you add your data to a contact report), we shall process this personal data according to your request. This data may be transferred e.g. to a distributor to request a quote, or we shall use it to send you the requested information as a one-off. This data shall only be used for further advertising purposes, e.g. an email newsletter, if you have given your express consent to this effect.

Purpose of data processing

 

We process your personal data only in compliance with the relevant data protection regulations. According to your request, we shall e.g. disclose the data to one of our distributors so they can draw up a quote, or we shall send you the requested information as a one-off. Your data shall only be stored further for the purpose of following up your request. 

Unless there are specific legal regulations in place, the legal basis for personal data processing is, in principle, Art. 6 of the GDPR. The following options are considered in particular:

  • Consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) of the GDPR)
  • Data processing for the purpose of performing contracts (Art. 6 (1) (b) of the GDPR)
  • Data processing based on balancing of interests (Art. 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR)
  • Data processing based on a legal obligation (Art. 6 (1) (c) of the GDPR)

If personal data is processed based on consent that you have given, you have the right to revoke such consent that you have given us at any time with effect for the future.

If we are processing data based on balancing of interests, you as a data subject have the right to object to personal data processing taking the specifications set down in Art. 21 of the GDPR into account.

 

Duration of storage or criteria for determining the duration

We store the data you provide to us only for the length of time needed to fulfil the purposes mentioned above or in line with the various retention periods determined by local law. If you revoke your consent, your data shall be routinely blocked or deleted in accordance with the statutory provisions.

 

Our company has created an internal concept to ensure this procedure.

 

Disclosing your data to third parties

 

We shall only transfer your personal data to third parties if doing so is permitted by law or if you have given your consent to this effect. If you have requested a quote or an on-site consultation, we shall disclose your data to one of our distributors in your country. Note on the respective rights of data subjects

You have the right to obtain access to the personal data concerning you. You can also request that incorrect data be rectified. Additionally, under certain conditions, you have the right to have your data erased, the right to restrict data processing and the right to data portability.
